Thank you for your interest in
serving as a vendor at the Chicago Caribbean JerkFest. We feel that
vendors who sell quality Caribbean products will make our festival
immeasurably more enjoyable for our patrons.
Below you will find our general vendor
information, as well as, a LINK to an application for you to submit if
you are interested in being a VENDOR at the CHICAGO CARIBBEAN JERKFEST.
We do limit vending of similar
items, so submit your application quickly.
Here's
what we're looking for:
• 24 food/beverage vendors
• 24 arts/crafts

Attendance numbers
Our first "Chitown JerkFest" is
expected to draw 5000+ people in total. If you know the Caribbean
culture, then you know that we will have an incredibly attractive
line-up for the JerkFest, and we are optimistic that we will meet or
exceed our 2008 total.
General

will be located at key areas of the festival area. Vendor space will be
assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Criteria for
Exhibiting All
applications must include the following:

Application completed in its entirety, including company name and items
to be sold

Illinois
Business Tax Number
·
Copy of Peddler’s License

Payment in full by May 1st - 2008

Food and Beverage Providers
Food and
beverage applicants must also include copies of the following with their
application:

Health Inspection Report
·
Sanitation Certificate
·
Certificate of
Insurance - A Certificate of Insurance for $1,000,000 Commercial General
Liability, naming the City of Chicago and the Chicago Caribbean JerkFest
as an Additional Insured, must be attached to the application. The
Certificate Holder is the City of Chicago c/o Department of Revenue,
City Hall, Room 107, 121 N. LaSalle Street, Chicago, IL 60602

Handler’s Permit or
Temporary Food License or proof of pending license (licensed kitchens
only)
Each
vendor space is limited to an area as assigned on a first come-first
served basis. Placement of vendors in the designated vendor areas is at
the sole discretion of Chicago Caribbean JerkFest staff.
Vendors are responsible for
constructing, furnishing, lighting, maintaining and removing their booth
materials, leftovers and trash. Vendor booths must have:
• An attractive, professional,
well-maintained appearance
• Professional looking signage - no
neon or flashing lights
• Three sides and a protective wind
and rain resistant roof
Vendors will be allowed to bring their
vehicle near the grounds, near the vendor area for check-in, setup and
take down. However, vendors MUST park their vehicles away from this area
for the duration of the festival.
All vendors must provide their own
fire extinguisher and tie-downs for any propane tanks.
Vendors
should prepare for any type of weather, this JerkFest will take place
whether rain or shine.
Electric:
Vendors
will need to furnish their own interior and exterior lighting. All
electrical equipment, including power strips and extension cords, must
be grounded and rated for outdoor use. Vendors should bring electrical
tape with them to waterproof connections
Product
Restrictions:
No
carry-in alcohol of any kind is allowed on the festival grounds. The
Chicago Caribbean JerkFest will be the sole purveyors of alcoholic
beverages – beer and wine – and Chicago Caribbean JerkFest logo
merchandise at the festival. Vendors should adjust their product lines
accordingly.
Sanitation:
Food booths should dispose of
all slop and grease in appropriate containers. This type of waste is
deemed hazardous, and therefore we ask that you DO NOT dump any of it in
the regular trash containers. Vendors found dumping waste on the ground
will be shut down immediately for the remainder of the event. Vendors
are responsible for disposing of this waste themselves in an appropriate
way. Dumpsters will be on site for the disposal of ordinary,
non-hazardous trash.
How to
apply
To apply for a Vendor space at
the festival, vendors should complete the Festival Vendor Application,
include all required support material and a cashier's check/money order
for the appropriate space category and mail it to the address below.
